DeVore Dance Extension is a new dance program embarking on a monumental year under the direction of Nyraena “Mrs. Raena” Alvarez. DDExt. Launched in the fall of our 25th Anniversary season we have a team of 25 dancers which represents one dancer for every year Devore Dance Center has been in existence. Our competitive team is an extension of excellence that is experienced when attending Devore Dance Center. 

The goal of this program is geared to challenge dancers and provide a competitive dance experience that will help to develop self-esteem, confidence, accountability, team building and leadership in young dancers. This program provides dancers with opportunities to perform for large crowds and compete against many other teams from all over the country. Winning is a lot of fun but our goal is not necessarily to win 1st place, but to encourage team members to do their very best and improve from one competition to the next one and most of all have fun. 

 

 

In addition to opportunities in dance, team members are assigned mentors to help keep each other motivated personally, scholastically and physically. A well rounded dancer is a scholar in the classroom and soars on stage!

 

 

 

On March 6, 2016 DDExt competed in their first competition with Step Up 2 Dance. After three (3) short months of training we finished 1st place in all dances entered receiving Double Gold, Platinum, High Platinum awards and scholarships towards nationals... We will be attending Starbound Competition, Dancers Inc. and finishing our season at SU2D  National Competition in Atlantic City, NJ summer of 2016.
